From Crate to Plate Hydroponic Farm Tour
With sustainability being at the core of Raan, we think it’s important to give journalists an exclusive look at your eco-friendly practices what makes you one of the UK’s most sustainable restaurants. We propose taking press on a tour of the inner-London hydroponic farm you work with, which will provide them a great firsthand experience into how the farm works and help formulate their stories.
Ahead of the press tour, we will pull together a key list of media targets to invite - this will range from food writers, sustainability editors, and lifestyle editors - having a range of journalists from different areas will ensure a variety of features.
The tour will include insight into the farm’s sustainable practices i.e. hydroponics, minimal water usage, and growing produce in a controlled environment with no soil. Journalists will be able to experience the technology and systems the farm uses to produce fresh ingredients for Raan.
If possible, it would be great to have an immersive element to the tour whereby journalists can plant, harvest or maintain the hydroponic systems. It would also be good for them to try the produce at the farm.
The tour guide can walk the journalists through the intricacies of hydroponic farming, the benefits of it and how it plays a role in reducing Raan’s carbon footprint. Journalists can then ask questions for their features.
Following the tour, we recommend heading back to Raan for a tasting session. Journalists can sample fresh produce straight from the farm as well as dishes that are made from the produce. This gives journalists an opportunity to see firsthand how the produce from the farm is being used in situ.
