SS24 - A Journey Through Irish Landscapes

The Idea:

Create an immersive spring/summertime activation in The Coral Room and terrace that celebrates the beauty of Ireland’s diverse landscapes without relying on traditional floral elements that have become commonplace.

The Decor:

Throughout The Coral Room, include elements one would find in a country home during the spring/summer months - potted ferns, ivy, clover and wildflowers to add seasonality.

Work with young artists i.e. Lauren Taylor to curate pieces throughout the space that display different areas of Ireland - lush green hills, cliffs, lakes and charming villages. Artwork can be for sale throughout Spring and Summer.

Transform the garden into a “Secret Irish Whiskey Garden” - whisk guests away to a little oasis, decked out with seagrass and wildflowers, reminiscent of the Wild Atlantic Way and keeping inline with the Irish landscapes theme. Serve up Irish whiskey flights with small plates.

Interactive Irish Whiskey Tastings

To help cement The Coral Room as a destination for premium Irish whiskey in London, we suggest hosting interactive Irish whiskey tastings led by Geo and the bar team.

Sessions will delve into each Irish whiskey, its aromas and distillation processes, tasting techniques and the art of blending.

Food pairings to include small plates of artisanal cheeses, smoked salmon, Irish soda bread, etc.

Gift bags: Each guest takes home a gift bag containing a Coral Room branded tasting glass, whiskey stones, a selection of mini whiskeys and a beautifully designed booklet with information on each whiskey + pairing suggestions.

Tasting events to take place once per month and would be ticketed.

The Drinks: Irish Whiskey Tasting Trail

Bringing in the Irish whiskey element, we recommend launching The Irish Whiskey Tasting Trail, a special menu dedicated to renowned Irish whiskey brands that each represent a different region of Ireland.

Suggestions for distilleries to team up with include:

Tullamore D.E.W. - Tullamore, County Offaly in the Irish Midlands; Teeling Whiskey - Dublin; Connemara - Kilbeggan, County Westmeath; HYDE Irish Whiskey - County Cork; Bushmills - County Antrim, Northern Ireland; Dingle Distillery - County Kerry.

Bar team to create a range of spring/summer cocktails incorporating the above whiskeys.

Work with a local illustrator to create map menus that can double as an art piece for guests to take home. Include the unique landscapes associated with each particular area the whiskey is from i.e. Wild Atlantic Way, County Cork, etc.
